I'd like to make a suggestion regarding the comments section of the blog. Instead of the oldest message first (back in 2011), the blog should begin with the latest or most recent posting (October 2014). Who wants to slog through all the old comments to get to current happenings???? Just a thought. Reverse order would be good.

Good suggestion, if not too difficult for the Webmaster to pull off.

I agree with you Frances. Unfortunately our host software doesn't provide an option to do that. If you notice, there was an issue with all of the blog posts (except the most recent) disappearing last week. I tried to get them back but even support couldn't help so I had to copy and past them all back manually. Hence, the bulk of them all show the edit date of 10/20/14 on the top right. I did put the initial entry dates back in the text though.

Kudos to Jack and Ward Brothers for the GREAT job cleaning out the common area behind Suzanne Ln. It's been long overdue. We can see some daylight again! We felt like the forest was going to reclaim our home for a while there. Thanks again for sprucing it up (no pun intended)

Yes, I saw and heard the trucks. Very efficient. However, there are so many more that are near homes that need to come down.

I have used an electronics recycler in the area and we will be checking with him to see about having a community wide pick up date and possibly even getting a some $ back to CVTA as well. They do it for other non-profits. Residents will be notified in plenty of time of the date of this.

Country Village -An accident waiting to happen. Speeding cars, cars not stopping at the stop sign and more importantly, an increase in the number of small children. Sadly, these children are unsupervised, riding bikes and scooters in the road without helmets and have no regard for oncoming traffic. I have yelled at speeders (including a board member), recorded license plates of non stoppers, yelled at a driver who passed a stopped school bus unloading children, scolded children for being careless in the road, to no avail. I have been flipped off, cursed at and been told to mind my own business. Well, protecting children should be everyone's business. With spring break and summer upon us, we need to be more aware of the increased presence of children in the road. Just because the town speed limit is 30 mph, doesn't mean that it's a safe speed in a residential area! Common sense people!

I would like to make a recommendation that we add the Hudson Valley Pest Control (518-477-4191) to the list of contractors and service providers on the Association website. Mr. Larry Taylor from HVPC removed a very large hornet's nest from the tree in the front of my house. He was professional, friendly, and efficient. The company responded very quickly, even on a Holiday! He took care of the removal safely and the clean-up was very thorough. I also want to highlight the fact that they use organic products and are fairly priced. I highly recommend them.

Came home yesterday to 4 healthy trees in our culdesac gone! They provided shade, privacy for homes across the way and curb appeal. Why not keep at least one tree? The other culdesacs have trees? What an upsetting sight to come home and see. What was the reason for this?

K. Deleon I agree with you. A few years ago I looked out my back window to find a tree being cut/trimmed and no one even knocked on my door to be neighborly or send me a letter. But the person who wanted the trees trimmed was happy !

Has anyone noticed a shady car driving through the neighborhood around 5:15am? One morning they drove through a stop sign and this morning when I was out running before work they pulled into somebody’s driveway, backed out again, and drove towards me where they came to a stop next to me. I got scared and continued to run away from the car and I paused in the street where it was well lit. This car always drives for a bit and then they put the breaks on, like a start stop, start stop, etc. all the way through the development. I really like to run before I have to go to work because it wakes me up but after this morning I am too spooked to go. Any thoughts from anybody?

I'm out occasionally around this time with the dog and have seen this exact type of behavior from newspaper delivery folks. They don't stop at the corner, they drive up driveways or walk up if need be to deliver the paper by the door, pull into driveways to turn around and leave, and are usually in a hurry. It may not be the same behavior you're seeing but it's a possibility. Either way it's wise to be very careful if out alone at that time.

Recently I started paying my HOA fees early and decided to try on line with Edgewood Management. To my surprise they charge a $3.95 fee or the company they use charges this fee. Decided to mail the checks instead ! Also does anyone know why they charge $50.00 fees for letters on various agendas . Thank you..

Dear neighbors, we've had a few snowfalls this year. As we all know the mail can't be delivered without the mailbox being shoveled out front and back. I've done this task a few times and would request other home owners please take turns shoveling. We will not receive our mail until there is a clear path for the mailman. Thank you

I know our neighborhood sees lots of wildlife! This last week in our cul-de-sac I saw a fox twice. He seems to be coming from the wooded area by the fire hydrant (on VIC COURT). This morning he caught a rabbit and ran in the cul-de-sac. I just wanted people to be aware especially those with small dogs or outdoor cats. He seems to have a den or perhaps a great hiding spot. Both times were around 7:30 am.

I spoke to a few of my neighbors just to let them know and they've all seen the Fox in our court another neighbor saw the Fox with a squirrel so he definitely has found an area that he is getting plenty of food and a place to stay!! I just want people with small animals especially outdoor cats just to be aware.

I really appreciated last night’s annual meeting. I’m new(ish) to this community and learned a lot about how the board operates and some current issues. I felt that homeowners’ questions were respectfully addressed and I appreciate that homeowners were willing to bring their concerns to the meeting.
